Congratulations Carrie Underwood, the 2010 ACM Entertainer of the Year!

Congratulations, Carrie!  You totally deserved that.

Carrie’s win tonight makes her the first female to ever win the award two years in a row.  Carrie beat out a huge crop of competitors, including Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band, George Strait, Keith Urban and Toby Keith.

I’m not totally positive (Any reader who can confirm, thanks so much!), but I think she may also be the first female to win the award twice.  The ACM’s Entertainer of the Year is fan-voted, with voting continuing up until the very last minute before the winner is announced.

This is a huge win for Carrie and we couldn’t be more proud and excited.  We’d also like to point at that she won the “Triple Crown Award” earlier in the evening, which is awarded to anyone who wins top new artist, top vocalist, and entertainer of the year awards and has only been given to 6 other singers.  Aside from winning two awards, Carrie sang “Travling Band” as the opening number with a group of people, and then performed a touching rendition of “Temporary Home” later in the show.  Look for that video later.
