The Conservative Journal: Celebrating Our Two Year Anniversary!

For those who follow me on Twitter (You don’t? What are you waiting for?), you’ve already heard the big news: today marks the two year anniversary of The Conservative Journal!  For those of you who haven’t been with us since day 1 (the large majority of you), here’s a little walk down memory lane so we can all reflect on where we came from.

• On October 26th, 2008, The Conservative Journal began as a small blog focused on the 2008 election.  Our first post was a discussion of what Collin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama meant for the presidential election.  At the time, it was just me, Rick, all alone in the vast blogosphere.  I tried to post at least every other day and did so rather successfully until after the election, which, as you’ll remember, did not go well for Republicans.
• Fast forward to now: We have a staff of 12 (and growing) and post numerous times throughout the day.  Our readership is growing, quite rapidly, and we’ve moved up in prominence throughout the conservative blogging niche.  Here’s a quick look at the raw numbers that speak more for our growth than my words alone:
  • In our first 30 days, we had a total of 1,005 visitors.  That was our peak for the first 3 months.  During December and January we had less than 500 visitors.
  • Check this out: We’ve had more views so far today than we did in October, November, December (all 2008), and January(2009) – COMBINED.
  • This month is on par to be our busiest month yet, with total visitors so far outnumbering the entire second half of 2009.

Whether you just started following us today, or you started at the very beginning, we’re glad to have you!  We hope you stay with us for many, many years to come!
